How to Connect to a TeamSpeak 6 Server
Connect with a server address in a few steps and troubleshoot the most common address, port and firewall problems.
What you need
Install the current TeamSpeak client and obtain the server address from the server owner. An address can be a hostname such as community.example.com, a hostname with a port, or an IP address.
Connect to the server
- Open the TeamSpeak client on your computer.
- Open the connection dialog from the client menu.
- Enter the server address exactly as it was provided. Add the port only when the server does not use the default voice port.
- Choose your nickname, enter a password if the server requires one, and select Connect.

If the connection fails
Confirm that the server is online, the address contains no spaces, and the port is correct. A timeout usually indicates a wrong address, an offline server or blocked UDP voice traffic. The server owner should verify the TeamSpeak 6 firewall ports.
